"If you live it and love it, you can tell it and sell it.” Kelly Ellis arrives to the Chamber with a load of experience and even more in energy and effort. Serving as the executive director, she attests that her 18 years of membership with the Cheatham County Chamber has been quite valuable.
Born in Burlington NJ, she later moved to the family farm in Joelton and graduated from Whites Creek Comprehensive High School. She began studies in computer accounting at Nashville Tech and then transferred to MTSU to continue her education in accounting. She gained knowledge and experience in tourism during her 16 years of working for a Nashville corporate conglomerate that owned more than twenty businesses in the Opryland area of Nashville. Climbing the corporate ladder, she polished her strict work ethic, witnessed every facet of business as well as served in the corporate office in accounting and on political campaigns, aided in the Sisters of Mercy Convent
fundraiser, worked with several of the up-and-coming country music stars, met/worked with/served diplomats while obtaining a plethora of marketing/sales/customer service proficiency.
After marrying Tommy Ellis, she moved to Cheatham County where she served in accounting/office management roles with various local businesses. As a sales rep for Brinkman systems, she grew her sales and marketing skills to a national level.
After establishing the Livery Stables in 2004, she used her resourcefulness to manage, work, market, and grow this multi-purpose venue, creating many unforgettable memories and hosting several popular annual events.
She is the vice-president of Ellis Home Improvements Inc., working in the office with her soulmate. She is well known for her community involvement through her past and present services, including the following: as Chairperson of Pleasant View Parks & Rec, she attained a large grant during her tenure;
PVAA officer; chairman of the town of PV Strategic Task Force; member of the North Cheatham Civitan; member of Goodsprings FWB Church; lifetime member of the Cheatham County Art League; prominent advocate for Pink Out for Hope, supporter of Safe Haven Family Shelter as well as Colby’s Army, board member of Cumberland Region Tomorrow. However, she claims her greatest achievements are her children, Donny, Kyle, Cage and their families.
Her love for peace and problem solving goes with her life motto “Try to be the
Neosporin for everyone's booboo.” She loves to help people and declares her favorite time is when everyone's happy, healthy, and having fun. She loves people. . . and is extremely excited about the journey she is about to embark upon with the Cheatham County Chamber of Commerce.
